FAQS

I treat and support a wide range of health concerns, including digestive issues, hormonal imbalance, skin conditions, reproductive health issues, metabolic disease, mental health conditions, immune health, allergies and food intolerance, inflammation, weight concerns, and general wellbeing. I can also work alongside your existing medical practitioner to complement any current treatment plan.
-
I have a Bachelor of Health Science in Nutritional and Dietetic Medicine from Endeavour College, and am currently completing a second Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathic Herbal Medicine.
I am also registered with the Australian Natural Therapists Association, member number 20074. It’s important to choose a practitioner with recognised training and qualifications as the title of Nutritionist isn’t currently regulated in Australia

No. A dietitian is qualified to work within the conventional medical system to provide medical nutrition therapy for people with specific conditions, such as diabetes. Generally speaking their approach to healthcare can be more clinical and reductionist, guided by the Western medicine model.
Nutritionists follow a more holistic philosophy. We consider lifestyle and environmental factors, utilise thorough case taking and functional testing, and operate within a natural health framework. Our focus is on prevention, whole body care, and long term health, rather than treating isolated symptoms.

Akeso was the Greek goddess of well being and the healing process. It is a name that reminds us to value consistency, and respect the healing journey rather than cutting corners for temporary relief.
Akeso now translates to the ‘healing one’ and as a nutritionist whose own name shares ancient Greek goddess origins, it felt like the perfect fit for the clinic.
